Meerkat Manor

Meerkat Manor  is a television series filmed at the Kuruman River Reserve, home of the Kalahari Meerkat Project (KMP), in South Africa's Northern Cape, by British production company, Oxford Scientific Films and globally distributed by Banijay Rights. Meerkat Manor followed the real-life events of a KMP meerkat group, Whiskers, led by its dominant female, Flower.

This series was presented in the style of a docudrama, with dramatized reenactments of actual events and narration which romanticized and humanized the animals' lives. The unique combination of this soap opera-like presentation with its traditional nature documentary filming techniques and up-close access to the animals proved highly successful.
